management and procurement. We are located in downtown SF, 2 blocks from BART
and 3 blocks from the Embarcadero.
:: Role Description ::
Are you interested in working with the latest Web Application technology, such
as AJAX, Web
Services, and Hibernate? If so, we are
seeking a J2EE developer who thrives in an environment that is fun, yet where
you will always be challenged to design and produce a very usable and scalable
application. We use an agile
development process and you will experience full ownership of the design and
development of enhancements to the product.
We don’t need to see 100 acronyms on your resume - we’re
looking for someone who knows a few things very well, and has the ability to
learn as needed. This is a full-time position and reports to the Director of
Software Engineering.
:: Qualifications ::
Candidates should have the following qualifications:
- 5+ years designing, building,
and maintaining functionality for enterprise-quality web applications.
Must be able to demonstrate significant contributions to past projects.
- Proficiency with Java server
technologies - experience with Struts (required), ORM
(Hibernate/JDO/custom persistence frameworks), and Spring (preferred).
- Proficiency with standard
development tools – Ant, JUnit, source control (CVS/subversion), UML
designs, Linux/UNIX shell commands.
- Proficiency with related technologies,
including SQL databases (Oracle), HTML, JSP, Tag Libraries, JavaScript, AJAX, XML, and Web
Services.
- Proficiency with Application
Servers, preferably BEA Weblogic.
- Good programming practices
with solid object-oriented development experience. Must be able to
analyze, point out flaws, and suggest improvements to existing code and
designs.
- Strong analytical,
organizational, and communication skills.
